Origins of Farmhouse Reblochon
Reblochon is an authentic cheese from the Haute-Savoie region.

Â
Reblochon was first produced in the 13th century at the heart of the massif des Aravis, in the Thônes region of Haute-Savoie.
At that time, any farmer who rented mountain pasture had to pay the landowner a sum based on the total quantity of milk produced.
When the landowner came to measure the milk yield, the farmer would carry out an incomplete milking.
As soon as the landlord had gone, the farmer would proceed to ‘remilk' (reblocher), i.e. to finish off milking the cows.
The milk produced from this second milking was richer in fat and served to produce a creamy cheese which became known as Reblochon.
