Hay

During the winter time, hay is the main food source for our cows and is therefore very important to the production of Farmhouse Reblochon

Whilst the cows are in the high pastures, hay is harvested in the valley's meadows.

When fine weather is forecast for a number of days, we spend the day haymaking down in the valley.

The grass is mowed, then raked into rows, and collected by the self-loading trailer, before being stored in the barn.

This hay will be dried and used to feed our cows during the winter period. The high quality of the hay enables our cows to produce a rich milk which gives our Farmhouse Reblochon its characteristic flavour.
